7th Grade
Weather Watching: We will be comparing weekly forecasts to what actually happens in an effort to build data for graphs and charts and to understand how probability works.
Personal Finance: We will break into groups and explore possible budgets based on fake and real paychecks.
Net Worth: We will pair up and explore other people's net worth.
8th Grade
Big Problems: We will apply the math problem solving method to social problems.
Everyday Algebra: We will be looking for variables and equations that could come up in everyday life, so we will break up into groups and each group will have a situation that could be solved by an equation.
My College/House Plan: We will take a look at how to save money to fund paying for large expense items, such as a 2 year or 4 year college degree or a house or car. We will also look at how much more expensive it is if you don't try to save.
